A Young Man of 21 Years Old from the Capital, Retained for the Marketing of Counterfeit Spirits

Following the measures to combat the illegal circuit of excise goods, counterfeit products, and measures to protect local consumers and producers, officers investigating economic frauds of Buiucani district within the Chisinau Police Department, identified and documented a young man of 21 years old, living in the capital for the marketing of counterfeit spirits.

The suspect was detained and documented while planning to sell a batch of 50 bottles of alcohol with fake excise stamps and without documents of origin, whose value is estimated at 3000 lei. The detected batch of drinks was seized by policemen, while being named an expert on the quality of alcoholic beverages.

The young man is being investigated for illegal practice of entrepreneurship, for which current legislation provides for a fine of 2,000 lei to 6,000 lei.

The Chisinau Police Department recommends citizens to buy such products only from authorized stores by law.
