ATTENTION!!! Counterfeit Knives and Tableware

The director of an enterprise of household goods, aged 36 years, residing in the capital, is suspected of large scale scams. He acted in complicity with four Roma men, aged between 25 and 40 years old, natives from Edinet. By deceit and abuse of trust they were selling household items such as counterfeit sets of stainless steel knives and tableware, under the pretext that they were produced by a renowned international company.

All they are concerned in a criminal charge instituted for committing scams in large proportions. According to information gathered by employees of Ciocana Police Inspectorate of the Chisinau Police Directorate jointly with Ciocana Public Prosecutor’s Office, the suspects were selling the goods in markets, shopping centers and even went to the homes of citizens, especially the elderly. Subsequently, following the authorized searches, the policemen found and seized counterfeit goods worth 250 thousand lei.

On this case was ordered the initiation of prosecution for fraud, which stipulates for a sentence of imprisonment from 7 to 10 years.
