Over 160 Bottles of Counterfeit Alcohol, seized by Police. They Were to Be Sold in the Capital

161 bottles of counterfeit alcohol were detected on 11 January by employees of the Straseni Police Inspectorate, together with employees of the National Patrol Inspectorate, following the searches at home and in the car of a man aged 44 years from the city of Calarasi.

Following the checks, the man was unable to present the documents of origin of the drink to the policemen. The policemen found that the drink was to be sold in Chisinau at a price of 30 lei per bottle.

The value of goods is 4,830 lei.

On this case, it was instituted a contravention charge, and the guilty person is liable to a fine of 3000 lei with confiscation of goods.

We should note that the General Police Inspectorate undertakes a series of actions to detect cases of introduction into the country through smuggling of excise goods, foodstuffs, industrial goods, pyrotechnic articles to ensure the life and health of citizens.
