Three Romanians were arrested in Chisinau. They were selling to Victims Counterfeit Medical Devices

A woman and two men, originally from Romania, were detained by policemen in Chisinau for having tricked dozens of elderly people in our country. They would have sold the so-called miracle medical devices, which can save them from all the diseases of old age. In reality, however, they were just Chinese scales.

According to police, more than 200 elders were daily enticed and convinced to buy the so-called miracle medical devices.

The devices, however, have proved to be some Chinese scales with infrared LEDs, which massage the feet. In online shops these can be found at just 30 dollars, while the crooks were selling them with 25 thousand lei. Some pensioners who were ensnared by the racketeers say they have taken loans to pay off the appliances.

The three suspects were promoting their products in the seminars organized in several hotels in the Capital. They were attended only by older people. The potential victims were identified and persuaded to attend these meetings by a group of girls. In the scheme were involved over 30 young girls.

Following the searches conducted in the dwelling and offices of suspects, the law enforcement officials have raised over two hundred thousand lei, 50 mobile phones and drugs. They also seized two cars.

The three suspects were between 26 and 28 years. If will be found guilty of fraud, they risk spending up to 15 years behind bars.
